About this unit

The Novation Launch Control XL is a USB MIDI control surface built around eight 60 mm faders, 24 knobs and 16 multi-colour buttons, designed for hands-on mixing and device control in Ableton Live. Custom templates let you map every control to any parameter, and full Mackie HUI support extends it to Cubase, Logic Pro and Pro Tools. Note that Novation now also sells a Launch Control XL 3; a used unit on the market is most likely the MK2 revision described here, so confirm the revision and that all faders and encoders are free of dropouts.
